Meet the Doctor

Holly Guard-Mayher D.D.S. was born in Annapolis and has spent her whole life in Maryland. She has lived just over the Bay Bridge in Kent Island with her family for the past 21 years. Holly has three children, two college graduates and a daughter at UMD that her husband Mark and she are very proud of. During her free time, you will find Holly outside hiking, camping, or just exploring nature with her family, including her 2 dogs, a mini–Australian Shepard named Foster, and an Australian Cattle Dog named Millie.

Holly graduated from St. Mary’s High School and started college at University of MD College Park (UMD). She graduated from the UMD Dental School in Baltimore as a Dental Hygienist in 1990, practiced as a hygienist for several years before going back to UMD for dental school and graduating in 1997. She has worked with her dad, Dennis Guard, DDS for over 30 years. He mentored and encouraged her to expand her skills at top programs like The Dawson Academy in Complete Dentistry Certification, The Scope Institute Sleep Apnea & TMD Course and becoming Invisalign certified.

Dr. Holly Guard-Mayher is also a certified CARE Esthetics provider, bringing extensive experience and specialized training in facial esthetic treatments to her practice. Her dedication to patient care and continuous education allows her to offer innovative solutions that deliver exceptional results, without the need for any chemicals.
